Well so much for the 30 day art marathon! Made it to, uh, day one and then life caught up with me. HOWEVER although I did not update a completed picture every day, I have been steadily working every day these past few weeks on my 'Daydream 2' and 'Real Pokemon' comics, which I formatted into a printed mini-comic that I then sold at the Portland Zine Symposium while you all were at Otakon or whatever.
I consider the weekend a success; I swapped for a ton of awesome zines and minis and thanks to cheap tabling and printing costs, actually walked away with a...profit??? Of five dollars, but still. That's including the twenty bucks I spent on zinesters' postcards and minis. Money well spent!
I wish there was more than one Zine Symposium every year so I could have more excuses to complete and print out comics, but I'm hoping that I'll set aside some serious art-making time for myself this year. Do you guys try to set goals and deadlines for yourself? How do you go about that? Are you successful with it?
Hope everyone's staying cool this summer, and not barista-ing herbal tea to an empty teahouse with no air conditioning...like some people I know...
